15th September 1970:  KMC Library got its new building named Kuching Corporation Library.

1989: City Library administration was handed to Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Utara.

1990: City Library was fully administered by Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Utara

1995: DBKU City Library is the first Library in Sarawak embarking on a computerized  system  that is the Horizon System.

2008: Moved to Sarawak Industrial Promotion & Exhibition Center (SIPEC)

2013: Moved to Level 4 & 5, Majma’Mall, Bangunan Kompleks Islam Sarawak
