KUCHING, 13 Feb 2012 (Monday): Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) on last Saturday conducted a “Gardening with DBKU” session, which was held at Family Park located at Jalan Sultan Tengah.
The programme was in line with an effort to plant more trees and greening the mother earth as well to beautify the landscape under DBKU’s jurisdiction. The gardening team was led by Mohammed Iryani, the secretary for the Family Park Garden Neighborhood Watch Committee. Among the objectives of the session were to educate the Family Park residents on producing very own compost, soils and flower plant and selecting on suitable plants to grow. DBKU also provide a training to assist on beautifying their home based on the green concept. For the purpose of beautifying the city landscape, DBKU also implemented various trees and flowers planted at different areas. The objective is to forge identity to areas known by plants and its flowers as well i.e. Jalan Demak Bako with Cempaka trees and Jalan Tun Abdul Rahman with Khaya trees. Apart from that, the programme aimed to foster close ties among the residents in the said area.
