KUCHING: The Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) is currently conducting upgrading works on a covered walkway at Kuching Waterfront.

In a statement yesterday, DBKU said this would be followed by upgrading works on facilities at Godown Amphitheatre.

Various other new proposals would also be implemented, it added.

“These include a covered walkway for the night market and pedestrians, as well as construction of the Petronas Green Park, which is expected to be ready in early 2022.”

DBKU called upon all Kuching cityfolk to continue giving their cooperation and support to ensure the cleanliness and beauty of the Kuching Waterfront.

The commission took over the management of Kuching Waterfront on Jan 1 this year, and several improvement projects have been carried out since.

Among them are cleaning services along the waterfront, which include polishing and painting the wood railings, as well as water-jetting on the pontoons and sidewalks.

Other works include upgrading the carpark next to the Kuching Waterfront Management Office, repainting works on the carpark, and clean-up works on the Sungai Bintangor area.

In addition, lawnmowing and softscape maintenance works on Kuching Waterfront have also been carried out.

The installation, maintenance, and repair of LED string-lights and termination boxes have also been carried out around Kuching Waterfront.

As for the kiosks and pushcarts, DBKU has also changed and installed new incoming cables, internal wiring, and sub-meter boxes.
