Register for DBKU Ramadan stalls this Friday

KUCHING: Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) has invited those who are interested in doing business at the Satok, Semarak, and Sukma Ria Ramadan Bazaars throughout the fasting month starting on the first day of Ramadan, Apr 13, to come forward for registration.

In a statement, it said applicants must visit the DBKU Auditorium, Bangunan Bukit Siol for registration on Friday (Apr 2).

Registrations for the Satok Ramadan Bazaar will be held from 8.30am to 10am on Friday (Apr 2) for food and beverage (F&B) sales, with a fee of RM225.

As for the Semarak Ramadan Bazaar, registrations will be held between 10.30am and 11.30am on the same day for F&B sales, with a fee of RM200.

Lastly, registrations for the Sukma Ria Ramadan Bazaar will be held from 2.30pm to 4.30pm on Friday (Apr 2) for F&B sales, with a fee of RM150.

“The number of permits issued is limited based on the number of sites available and any delays will not be entertained,” said DBKU.

It added applicants needed to bring along the following documents:

  • Two passport-sized photos of the applicant and an employee/assistant
  • One copy of the identity card of the applicant and an employee/assistant
  • One copy of the food handler course certificate of the applicant and an employee/assistant
  • One copy of the health examination report including typhoid vaccination of the applicant and an employee/assistant
  • One copy of reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (rT-PCR) Covid-19 swab test report of the applicant and an employee/assistant
  • Fee to be paid

“A food handling card will be issued and charged RM10 for each hawker, employee, or assistant,” they said.

They added that cooking activities would not be permitted at the bazaar site, according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

“Each applicant is only allowed one retail site for one area,” said DBKU, adding that incomplete applications would not be entertained.

“All applicants who have been successfully offered a site are required to attend a briefing session on Saturday (Apr 10), starting at 8am, at the DBKU Auditorium, Bangunan Bukit Siol,” it added.
