KUCHING: The Friendly Neighbourhood Carnival (KJM) serves as a focus for communal activities, gathering the community at large.
Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi said this when launching the weekend carnival at Padang Merdeka here yesterday.
Dr Abdul Rahman who is also in-charge of DBKU commended the cooperation between the KJM committee and DBKU for making the event a success.
“Through strong cooperation, hopefully we can have this kind of programme every year at Padang Merdeka, and perhaps even bigger in years to come,” he said.
Among the outdoor activities lined up at the carnival were futsal, cycling, skating, aerobics, traditional sport such as topspinning, carnival games, telematch and DBKU garden sales.
