KUCHING: Unlicensed hawkers and traders are urged to apply for licences and permits from Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) by downloading the registration form at the council’s website https://dbku.sarawak.gov.my.

Following the announcement by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg on the Sarawak Special Aid Sayang 2.0, small traders and hawkers licensed by the Local Authorities in the state will receive a special grant of RM1,500 through the Sarawak Pay account.

 According to DBKU, the required documents for registration are as follows:
• A copy of the Identity Card (I.C) of the applicant and spouse;
• The latest picture of the applicant;
• Photos of stalls/places of business;
• Business verification support documents; and
• A picture of the composite licence/permit (if applicable);
The completed form along with the completed supporting documents can be sent to the DBKU Licensing Division.

The counters will be open from 8.30am to 12.30pm (Monday to Thursday) and 8.30am to 11.30am (Friday). Registration deadline is on May 31.
